My husband Bob and I have owned Golden Retrievers since 1989. We started off with two bitches, each from a different litter, they were to be our pets and were the start of a new lifestyle for us. They were admired wherever we went and soon we became interested in showing. We were bitten by the bug when we won our first 1st prize, this was at Newtown Open Show, the judge was Val Lyons.
Since then we have exhibited at many Championship and Open shows and have enjoyed every minute of it. We are very proud that 7 of our dogs have won their KC Stud Book Numbers. We also believe in the KC Good Citizen scheme, and 4 of our dogs have attained a KC Good Citizen Gold Award. We have bred 21 litters and usually only have a litter when we want to keep a puppy ourselves. Their charm make them very easy to collect, and as of writing this we have 5 dogs and 4 bitches.
Goldens have brought us much joy and pleasure and we are indebted to them for allowing us to share their lives. Our dogs live in our house and are at the heart of our family, temperament is most important, and all our dogs are health tested for Hip Dysplasia, Elbow Dysplasia and hold current clear Eye Certificates.
There are many aspects to the hobby of dogs: I also enjoy judging and stewarding. I am currently on the ‘B’ List of all of the Golden Retriever Breed Clubs.
